If I get a pair of convicts and they laid eggs, could they be left with the parents and they not eat them?

yes talk to ciclidbuddy he has a pair of convicts thats been spawning a few batches and the parents protected the fry,hes got them with a couple of tiger barbs.

Convicts will protect their fry very well. There is a point however after the fry start to get older and bigger they might stop and actually might start eating the fry. Most people can keep the parents the whole time with their babies but u should keep a close eye the first two batches to see what happens.
