I just bought 3 female convicts from petco and added them to my 29 gallon bow front tank with about 10 male convicts, Theese convicts are about 2 inches long and the water is at about 84 degrees, It is clean water and there is half a flower pot and a rock in there, besides that the tank is bare. will they breed soon??

might want to get rid of 8 cons. IMO. but how big are the males?

they should just let them alone do water changes everyday and only take a little out like 25% and 4 out of 7 days add some salt and if they dont breed then just let them alon and you will have some eggs......and i mean the first four days for salt... this is how i get mine to breed

Too many males and just too many fish for a 29 gallon. Keep 2 males and the 3 females. Give them some time to pair up and get rid of the rest. I would only keep one pair in a 29 for breeding. Everything else will probably be beat to death.

I dont have to get rid of any, I know the tank is too small right now but I am breeding them fro feeding purposes. I am planning on using them to feed Red Bellies. When they breed I will put the fry into the 10 gallon tank I have set up and when they grow bigger I will put them in the the other cons in the 29 for them to breed and I plan to continue this cycle
