Right heres the story. I use to keep convicts when i first started fishkeeping years ago and got rid of them because i became over run with fry. Now i want to breed them for feeders. I have a 20 gallon breeder and i bought three convicts all about 3-4" big. I was told they could not be sexed in the LFS and i now know better !! Anyway i am now left with only one convict which killed the other two, so i am guessing i am left with a male. Am i correct in thinking this. Can i now go to a better LFS and ask for a female so i can start breeding ?
Thanks.

I believe the male sports a red mark on its stomach(might have this backwards)If your Con doesnt have a red spot then look for 1 that does and vice versa.

Yeah you got it backwards the female has the red mark.

yep backwords, you should use this info and get a female you probably got all males on accident.

I just set up a 20 for feeders. Got a male and 2 females at one inch, easily able to be sexed at that age, and 8 days later I had fry. Good luck but you probably will not need any. lol
