these two are showing signs of wanting to breed, rubbing each other and chasing off other fish and digging holes.

now the question, are they male female or have a got a queer pair. reading the other threads and talking about being peachy orange but neither of them show colour other than the small one in the dorsal fin.

going from body shape it does look like the first is female and the larger is male. How long have you had the fish? What size are they? I have found with all 3 of my females they can loose their orange coloration after spawning and while raising fry.

yeah i know there not the greatest looking specimens but hey i'm luck to find decent fish here.....

fish fish is about 2 inches and the second would be 3-4 inches. had these fish for about 3-4 months already. been digging holes for about the last 2 weeks

Yep... by the looks of it.. you've got a pair. The guy with the pointy.. dorsal and anal fins.. well that the male. Other with the less pointy or shorter fins and the more colorful one is the female..
From the pic, All I C is plants.. you should have a smooth pebble or a stone.. that they'll clean and lay there eggs.. a very beautiful site to C.. they protect there own young till they can fed for themselves...GOOD LUCK!!!

Cons will spawn ANYWHERE, but prefer a dark cave. The first pic looks like a ballon con with next to no coluration. I doubt you have a fruity pair. Have they got thier breeding tubes out yet?

not to my knowledge, but then again not really sure what i'm looking for.

this is a really crap image but at the moment it's all i got in the way of current full tank shot

they're hidding in the right bottom corner at the back away from the clay pots and piece of slate i put inthere for them to breed on.

would a couple pieces of PVC pipe be better for them. i have a couple sitting around i removed from other tanks.

the flower pots are fine i could stop mine from breeding and try riseing the temp a little it might take a little time but they will breed and when they do they wont stop

I agree with the flower pots, the eggs most likely will not stick to the pvc (at least none of my breeders eggs would stick)
