Just kind of looks like a little metallic orange patch, the male wont have it.

you can see it in this pic of the female con.

Often the orange is broken up between the black bands, not just "one patch" but if it has orange, it's female. Easy peasy.

Yeah good thread I was lookin to breed convicts as well (use the fry as feeders) I was wondering all the same questions.
