hi my convicts bred about 1 month ago and i was just wondering if they will be the same color as there parents or not, there parents are both fully white.

they may be all white(aka pink) or you may have some regular black cons as well. when my black cons spawn, there are always a few pink fry with the regular striped ones

well, the pink is a recessive gene, which means both parents have to have two copies of it in order to be pink, and there is no 'regular' gene in them. the fry will be all pink.

nmrsco - your cons both carry one pink gene, which is why they look normal but have some pink babies. some of your babies carry both black genes, and about half of them carry a single pink gene.

that is true and ive had a breeding pair of hybrid cons with zebra cons and they came out mostly hybrid but three zebra
