Cooked Shrimp bad?

So I have occasionally given my fish shrimp to eat maybe 6 times over the past 2 years. Well I was over at ReefCentral asking about feeding my Snow Flake Eel, and I was told that you should not feed cooked sea food to fish. So if it is bad, I am sure because of how rarely I have feed it likely has not done any real damage.

Where do you guys get you sea food for feeding? I wanted feed a mix of food I see frozen raw shrimp at Walmart but rarely see things like frozen raw squid or other yummy treats. Since I have to feed my SFE shrimp and he is the only one who need it; it would go bad before I feed it all to him. So I guess I will also feed it to my cichlids.


So how often do you feed sea food to your fish?
Do you feed raw or cooked?
Where do you buy.

Living in the gulf states, I can find good deals on 5 pound bags of whole raw shrimp (about $3/lb). Most of my fish dislike cooked shrimp because of the boil spices used in most chain stores. When I can't find roadside sellers, I'll buy the 2 lb bags at Walmart. I feed my fish and FRT thawed shrimp every 3rd day. I also feed them crab meat, clams, thawed frozen squid (after gutting and skinning them), live earthworms, minnows, scuds, dwarf or young crayfish, and sinking sticks on a daily basis. I cut up all the frozen seafood and freeze them in ice trays. Once frozen, I add another thin film of water and freeze the top layer on with plastic wrap over the tray to prevent freezer-burn.

Go to your local or the closest ASIAN MARKET... most of the time they have EVERYTHING you could think of for sale with shrimp... krill... freeze dried and etc... I found Squid, sliced uncooked, 40/50 shrimp uncooked, etc... that is the best place... BUT i have to drive from the Jersey shore to PHILADELPHIA to get it so like an hour and a half drive to get food for my fish... thats how i stock up... GL

My local super markets carry a decent selection of raw seafood and Im in Montana so im sure it shouldnt be to hard to find raw stuff anywhere

not geographical location, but the part of the city I shop in I can go too different stores in the city. however I was just oundering if wan people t to supermrkets or sea food store.

I too live on the gulf. I buy only fresh caught, slept in the water last night, head-off, uncooked gulf shrimp
