Before and after pictures of the new piece of drift I got. I boiled it on high for about an hour flipping it every 15min. I put it in and my water is still clear as ever! Thanks to boiling hot water, Bio wheel, and reactor!

Looks good!! How long has it been in there, because the tannins won't leach out of the wood, entirely, overnight.

No it sank right to the bottom with no weight. And its been in there since this morning. I boiled it last night! Just hope those tannins keep to themselves cause I'm proud of how clear my water has gotten over the last month! But it most likely will leach. I soaked the other piece in my tank for 3 days changing the water 3 times or more another day with scalding hot bath eater and it still leached out into my tank. It wasn't till about a month ago that the tea'd water faded away! Wish me luck haha!

Gotta love the bio wheel!

Gotta love the bio wheel!

What would a bio wheel have to do with colour? The bb doesnt eat tannins lol, try carbon that will soak it up, I prefer a lot of bio media, ive had a bio wheel once and it did make me feel special

I was wondering the same thing. I love biowheels too but that has nothing to do with water clarity. Just a perfect spot for bb to grow
