My dad just got me two Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches. They are so cool!!! one is a male and one is a female who is clearly prego and going to pop soon. I got rid all the babies i had before two years ago, and am looking forward to having them again. Just not looking forward to the fact that I have a year left of high school and i'm not sure what im going to do with them when i go to collage because my father doesn't want to take them.

Anyway thought I'de tell people about my two new pets

Ditto. Rep gets one, I get the other?

how do you keep a roach as a pet? likewhat are the requirements... IMO they can live in anything, lol

There's really not much you have to do for them just get some substrate (not like bark or anthing like that) like some loose soil like potting soil or sand though its better to use the soil because the babies hide in the ground till they get bigger.
You can keep them in basically anything as long as theres no way for them or their babies to get out though a 10 gallon tank or higher is better since they will reproduce quickly.
You can feed them almost anything dry cat food, dry dog food, fish food, fruits (oranges, apple, bananas, ect), Veggies (tomatoes, celery, squash, peas and pea pods, potatoes, romaine and other green leafy letticuses, ect). Water wise you can give the fluckers like you would crickets or have a very shallow dish with a sponge in it.
You should spray the tank down every day to every other day to keep the humidity up because they like to have alot of humidity. spraying it down is also another way to give them water.

I remember the past few years, Six Flags were giving out prizes like head of the line passes, t-shirts, etc. if they eat a Hissing Cockroach. It was pretty disgusting. PITA was all over that...on the news and everything. Not sure if they did it this year since I don't work there anymore.
