lol on a holiday weekend dosent matter how cool it is its going to be packed. i went to the shedd during a weekday i think but still lots and lots of people. hopefully someone can tell you some of the less known places to go.

Shedd, Field museum, navy pier, the sears tower skydeck is pretty awesome if it's a clear day, there is a cool chinatown, lots of stuff to do downtown if you are looking for it.
oh yeah forgot about china town i really enjoyed that also i went out on an Odyssey cruise deal its a dinner and little cruise very fun to take a gf or wife. i would suggest going on a fireworks one or a night one if possible. Odyssey is the most expensive one of the like 4 boats but the atmosphere is amazing. also if your younger I'm sure the party boat would be fun also. but as it was more of a date thing for mine i chose Odyssey. very happy i did.
