I'm planning on setting up a 40 breeder and I want to stock it with fish that would look cool to guests and that would be fun to watch eat. Basically I want a fish/group of fish that are aggressive and will be able to eat feeder fish but that is small enough to be in a 40 Breeder. I plan on doing 50% weekly water changes and having a 40 gallon and 75 gallon sponge filter.

Wow! Just watched some youtube videos and they're just what I'm looking for! How big do they get and how many could I have in a 40 Breeder?

I like the idea of having a school of very active fish. Where could I find Exodons for sale? All I could find was at petsolutions for $9 ea.

*In home aquarium Exodon grow up around 4~5 inches, most likely 4 inches and rarely see them bigger than 4.5 inches (most died before they can reach that size) :)
*You would need a large school of Exodon to keep the salvation low between them and they will need to feed more than 3 times a day, because of the high bio load you will need a very very strong good filtration system and more water change to keep water quality in check.
*Exodon is not a cheap fish no matter you buy in nearby LFS or order online the lowest cost will be $7 each (other option is that you have good relationship with your LFS and ask them to order for you then the cost would be around 3~3.5 dollars each per 100).
*You will need a shoal of 25+ the more the better because they will kill the weakest one in first few weeks. When everything settled in (before you giving up on them) :) they still fight/salvage each other here and there but nothing cause major damage to kill them.
*They do good in Biotope/heavy planted tank for hiding space and escape of bully one sight.

A 40b would be perfect for a few puffer varieties. A single humpback/dragon, Congo or hairy would do well. They are pretty lazy but respond well to feeding.

If Exodon is too much for you then a lot of other species response to food with impressive energy and fun to watch (community Tetra species will have similar feeding static like Exodon). Anyway, here is a Exodon tank I setup for my sister last year, I started out with 200 Exodon in 125G size from 2~2.5 inches (at the time I record this video they already killed/ate most the weak one), they are now well over 3~3.5 inches and around 125 left in the tank.

Petsolutions is out of stock of exodons i doubt my LFS would have them so where could I get them?
