Coolest insert I’ve ever seen

picked this thing up at petsmart for my african tank. I cut some holes in the backside so they could get inside and establish breeding territories

No I drilled holes in the top so I could see the fish. If one goes missing For more than a couple days I’ll pull it out and look. What’s it made out of? Feels like plastic but makes dust like sheet rock when cut

I am not a fan of fake rocks etc personally, but must say that looks pretty damn good in your tank stacked to the top like that

That’s how I felt forever until I bought this. Figured it looked almost real plus it’s like a cave/tunnel system inside ... the round hole is 2.5”’diameter for reference

I would agree, that looks really good for being artificial. Good idea drilling the holes. Is your tank visible from the back? I bought a artificial piece of drift wood from Petsmart a few years ago that looks very real in a tank. Maybe add some anubias or other plant to your rockpile.

Top Fin makes some nice artificial decorations and they can be pricey.I have seen a few of their pieces that I have had to walk away from due to the price.My only other issue with such pieces is they can become waste traps as over time as a good amount manages to get down into the holes and builds up inside of the hull.
