Had an epiphany today for a crazy tank! Since I don't have space for such thought I would plant the idea in your brains!!
Picture a standard 55g suspended on a wall; no shelf, no hangers apparently completely suspended. No filters, no bubblers. Just an empty tank, gravel and massively overstuffed with fish!
It would have to be done in glass. The base concept is that the bottom would be very thick and extend through the wall enough to create a cantilever strong enough to hold the tank. Of course supported back there. Second point is the bottom is drilled in 2 places; one for outtake and one for return. A custom undergravel filter large and divided so that there is a boundry between bulkheads. Third point is to have a massive sump system so you can overcrowd.
To complete the illusion, trim could be installed to hide the thick bottom. And the back brought up to be flush with the surrounding wall.
Don't know if I made that very clear.... could sketchup a model if someone was REAL interested!
