what would be the coolest water they can live in? my father-in-law has a pond in his yard and i tought about putting him in it to fatten him up on minnows?

They can easily go down to 55 for short periods and 65 for extended periods.
Definitely not Michigan pond material unless you plan on housing it indoors during the colder periods.

yeah its not huge pond so i dont think catching him would be to hard but just for a couple months.
I was going to do the same thing this summer but I never got around to it. I have a 550+ gallon pond with nothing in it but fathead minnows. I figured I could keep my Florida Gar in it for the summer. I might give it a go next year.
guys dun mind me asking another qns 2 add on 2 tis topic... would it be possible 2 introduce a juvenile gar into a koi pond? would it's temperament change as it matures cuz it has been living wif docile fishes? will the gar attack the kois as it grows... cuz i'm thinking of using my father-in-law's pond as well...
