Ever since i added my protein skimmer, my coraline growth has exploded. But it looks like its spreading on the sand. I didnt know it would grow there. Is that coraline on the sand? I know what the brown on the sand is, i use tap instead of RO.

is the stuff on the sand hard? if not it may be cyanobacteria!

Cyanobacteria.

Fight it immediately. Do a water change and add phosphate remover media into your filtration in a baggie. If you have no corals a Blackout may be in order if it explodes.

This is what happened to my nano when i let it get out of hand...

Yup, it happens to everyone. Just don't let it get out of hand or it will be one hell of a fight.

oh noes...im guessing its from me lowering the salinity over the past 2 days treating ick with hyposalinity. Changing small amounts of water with tap probly didnt help. Whats the best solution to this?
