I'm thinking of getting one and I couldn't find much info .
If anyone owns/owned this fish I would like to know more about growing rate, max. size, aggression,tankmates,etc....also if it needs cooler temps (low 70s). thanks
(the pic is not mine)

I don't know much about them but I believe that is a picture of Coreoperca kawamebari?

here's a pic of my C. whiteheadi...got him from Rapps last batch

Not the greatest shot, they're fairly cryptic fish (or at least mine is) seems to prefer lurking back in the shadows

Slightly different pattern than the fish you showed a pic of, less red in the fins etc...I like those C. kawemebari...hopefully someone will bring them in someday

Mine eats cut shrimp but only if he sees it hit the water...if it's just floating or sinking he doesn't see it as food..yet. Hoping he will figure out the feeding thing a little better soon, he has only been off live for a few weeks.

Mild territorial aggression towards other fish that come too close to his current hiding spot but he will back down in a hurry if they push back at him.

Hasn't grown much in length but has filled out considerably, not sure on max size.

I keep mine with some cool water fish, he seems fine in 68 to 70 degree water but per Fishbase they are a 'tropical' fish so I assume they can tolerate warmer temps just fine. I haven't tried it above 72 myself.

Thinking of getting more myself, I only have the one. Good luck if you try them, pretty cool fish.

Thank you Norbert ...I am planing on keeping one in my dats/geos/tig comunity....temp is 80 and that worried my a little.

anyone else ?

Many of the Perch in the hobby are pretty rare. Which is probably why info on them is not so detailed or numerous.

However, this may change as a good number of these species are being aquacultured as food fish and that an appeal for them grows as a "special" aquarium fish.

That aside, Norbert put it right on the mark. Only extra advice is that aside from keeping to a regular Water Change routine, I'd advise getting him on pellets as soon as you can.

Hope this helps. And welcome to the wonderful world of perch. :)
