corner filters

I was wondering what you guys thought about corner filters? I am setting up a 55 gal tank and my budget is very low. I see they are really cheap online. but I also know you get what you pay for. you help would be very much appreciated.

go with a hydro 5 sponge filter and a air pump and a ac70 hob filter. economical and very effective.

I like sponge filters over "corner filters" or "box filters"... but packing the corner filters fill of filter fabric (or quilt batting) does offer poretty thorough fine filtration...

Either one (sponge of corner) will produce some water movement and surface agitation...

While this approach likely won't give you "perfect" water clarity, it will keep a tank healthy...
