Hey I'm thinking about getting a ray. My lfs has one about a 4'' disc width. It looks like a Urolophus halleri though, a cold water species. But the owner said it's a warm water ray. They said it came from Baja. My water temp gets to be around 82 degrees during the day and 80-81 during night. They can get in yellow caribbean rays but they are $120...way to much for me. I appreciate your help thanks.

You might get more info in the saltwater section. The rays you are talking about are salty

Death curl is when the outside of the rays disc curls inwards. At this stage rays are past the point of return, they usually die at this point. To prevent this? Just give the ray the water conditoons it needs and try to keep out parasites. Theres not much we can do for viruses and internal diseases though.

Carl.

Check out www.divertom.com for a yellow ray. Even with shipping to you it would be less than the lfs.
