As some of you know I fell into a free 14g tank. So i decided to do some cory cats in the tank. I picked up 3 today at Petco. They are the Punctatus Cory Cat. The tah said max size was 2.5 inches so i figured I was ok. They are currently very small. 1 inch or less. How fast do these guys grow? Also they said to feed them sinking shrimp pellets. So i bought a bottle but wanted your take on it...

Also what else can i put with these guys? I know they are mainly bottom dwellers. I like the look of the cats, can I add anymore or is my "bottom section" filled with those 3? I thought maybe some albino's.

My goal is a MILDLY planted tank. I don't want a crazy lighting system or CO2 to deal with. This is just a small side project that I want to look kinda cool.

Thanks for your help in advance

Well as I learned today, you probably want to add more.. like 4 more.. And I feed mine what everyone else eats.. which include bloodworms, Hikari Gold pellets (I presoak these, then squeeze them so they'll sink) flakes, and dang it.. I can't remember the name..but those little tiny shrimp.. they kinda look furry..

brine? mysis?

and why four more? Would that max the tank out when they are full grown?

Corys are a schooling fish so the more the merrier. I have 3 albino and 3 panda in my 55. The are very happy and healthy. If you are doing a 14 gallon planted then I would say add 2 more corys maybe like you said some different ones. If you wanted some other fish you could always do a few American flag fish or a few rams. If you wanted some small bottom dwellers then get a few bubble bee cats. There are not very active but in a 14 gallon it should be to hard to spot them.

I questimated on 4 more, add as many as you think will be comfortable.. although if you get different species, from my observation they will not school..

Questimated... I like that. I don't mind buying 4 more i just didn't want to over run my tank at the bottom. Full grown having 6 or 7 won't be too much for the 14g? If not no worries then.

I ended up with 6 spotted corydoras, 3 bleeding heart tetras and 3 black fin tetras...

I personally love the look of many different Cory species schooling together. In my 20 long planted I have 4 peppered, 4 panda, and 3 blacks. 1 died in quarantine a few weeks ago and just havent got to replacing him just yet. Relocated the zebra pleco that was in that tank to an otherwise empty 33 gal hex, because the Corys schooled around him stressing him out.
