We recently imported some really nice Emerald Green Corys (Brochis Splendens?) .. They came in as a beautiful emerald color and my picture shows it really well.. However, once I sold some to the LFS, where they wen't into a community tank, they started to lose their coloration.. They turned a dark olive green, and look like the ones PetSmart carries..

I am assuming that this is just from stress and less than ideal conditions.. Will their coloration ever come back?, or is like a flash zebra juruense where they will permenantly lose their yellow coloration in captivity..

Just curious.. heres the pic

I am thinking that PetSmart and I have the same water parameters, and it has more to do with the Peruvian water parameters..

I think they display there best colorations in cool, soft, acidic water.. rather then cool, hard water..

yeah that makes a lot of sense.

Yeah the water is different but they should get used to it right?

Do you think that given good quality balanced diet they might regain the colouration though?
