Hey everyone ,

So i started to stock my tank this week and I've had some issues with my Cory Julii . It has nothing to do with my Parameters and everything to do with the LFS I purchased them from. The reason I say that is because when I went there I noticed dead fish in the Cory tank with the same problem the dead ones had. Some sort of internal hemorrhaging. not to mention they knew about the issue and have been dealing with it this shipment he said.

LFS replaced the dead cory no problem but again this morning I found another one... All other fish appear to be fine. BN pleco , Cory Plateus , BH Tetra and Danios are all fine. Has anyone ever seen this before with fish ? is this a Cory specific issue and any idea as to what could be causing this ? The LFS suggested it was them piercing each other with their barbs during shipping and causing bacterial infections and killing some of them .

for the skeptics ..

Ammonia 0 PPM
Nitrate 20 PPM
Nitrite 0 PPM
pH 7.5 PPM

Sometimes prolapsed rectum(if that's what you are describing) can be internal parasites, fairly common with Corydoras..Maybe run a cycle of Metro/Prazi. If it seems to be very contagious, maybe a different issue. Do the fish look very skinny?

When you say prolapsed rectum , I can't help but laugh and think of hemorrhoids lol. the remaining 5 Corys appear to be in good health. as well as the two Cory Palateus . crossing my fingers no more corys die tonight !
