I got these 5 Cory Cats today at WalMart, I adore Corys and felt so dang sorry for these tiny guys. I don't know what species they are though.
Does anyone know? I've never seen this species anywhere but I'm sure they're common.
They also accidently put this yellow guppy and unknown white fish in the bag. The 2 hang out together. (I know this is the catfish forum) but does anyone know if the white fish is a female Guppy? I'd appreciate any ID help I can get, thank you.

if no one knows then try planet catfish. what they dont know about catfish aint worth knowing.
i would have said bronze too but the mouth looks more elongated than a bronze and in the 2nd pic the fins look like they have an orange tint to them. i have seen a pic of a cory with orange fins but i cant remember what its called or if the body colour is the same.

holy **** your white fish is male mosquitofish, the most murderous fish! Keep eye on him as mosquitofish are known to nipping other fish fins, especially your fancy guppy.

are u kidding me????
my mother-n-law and a good friend of mine have breed guppies (i only keep semi-aggresive fish or full blown aggressive) and that is a white female guppie. now i could be wrong. im not almighty and allknowing but the snout is not as prononced as a mosquito fish. if can discribe why this is a mosquito fish, if it is, that would be apprecieated

It does look like all the female guppy pics I googled. Little tiny thing isn't aggressive in the least, acts scared to death and sticks right next to the male Guppy. The tank it came out of had Corys and Guppys in it.

another note my friend that used to breed guppies breed a siamese (shared to same stumach)and was an awesome breeder, created a few beatiful lines (including a white line NOT ALBINO) he breed in the 70's
and i asked him and he agrees with me

Thank you for posting and for checking with your friend and following up. You didn't have to do that and I appreciate it. I believe it's a female Guppy also. I know they're not big huge important fish to most people. Heck, the guy at WalMart didn't think enough of it to even charge me for it. But it's mine now so that makes it important enough to find out for sure what it is :-) Besides-it's such a sweet tiny little thing.

hey i personnally love these fish, i just dont keep them( something about seeing a female guppie taking on male caracteristics and the mating with the females, the males and females were seperated, creeps me out). though i am gonna try to hybridnize guppies with endlers.
