I've got a tank in which (2) 1" and (1) 2.5" "Peppered" Corys are the primary bottom scavangers. Will my new 3" Senegal be O.K with the Corys? They have alternate homes should it be necessary, but I just thought I'd ask. This is my fist Poly, and I'm very happy to now be a part of the clan.

Ben.

I wouldn't trust it. The Bichir may go after them and choke on the spines.

WOW!!! I REALLY underestimated the Senegal! I was expecting some kind of warning about the Corys somehow messing with the Bichir, but NEVER woud have thought he/she could get one of the Corys in its mouth, or even try for that matter. I'll keep a close eye on them, and probably move the little Peppers out in the morning. Thanks.

Ben

Well the 3" bichir will be a 6" bichir before you know it. Corys start to look like snacks by then.

i've kept a school of bronze corys together with my bichirs. those corys are around 2" and my bichirs range from 7" to 10". they lived in harmony until my aro ate the corys one by one.

:iagree: my albino had his tale missin so i scooped them out.

My 8 inch Senagle lives with a 3 inch Loach since 1 year and although it is a weird combination they have absolutely no problems..

A cory may become a snack since they are usually less than 2.0 inches but it may work!...
