So right now I have a 15 gallon (24"x12"x12") setup with a breeding group of 5 paleatus Corys. The tank stays pretty clean with nitrates only about 10-15 by the end of the week since there's a sponge filter and tons of hornwort to keep it clean. Sadly all 50ish eggs I've got from the group so far over the course of three spawns all seem bad and haven't hatched a week later so I'm thinking I might never get fry out of these fish. That being said I'd like to breed something and was wondering if I could get away with having a small group of some type of livebearer in the tank as well. As far as params my temp ranges from 66-76 F (winter-summer) and pH is 7.6. I'm looking for a livebearer that won't harass the cories (i e no mollies
), isn't very dirty, and will spawn fairly easily yet I can still sell the fry for around 25-50C a piece. Some options I'm considering are Platies, Swordtails, or some species of Goodeid and I'm not very interested in Guppies/Endlers. Any ideas?
