$7.96/month LOL! (pulled that number out of the air) A brackish tank doesn't cost much more to run than a freshwater tank. The only difference is you have to add salt to the water. The only additional equipment needed would be a hydrometer. A small tank with light, filter, and heater costs under $10/month to run.
Buy your salt in bulk, and it's really not that expensive. That being said, your maintenance schedule will also change this quite a bit. If you have an overstocked 30 gal that you end up doing bi-weekly water changes on like me it can be significantly more than fresh. What stock are you looking at?
