I was at a LFS in NY State the other day and saw what was labeled as a "Costa Rican Blue Shrimp." It was a small (maybe 2") guy with BIG (about another 2") arm and lobster-type claws. The claws were 1 big and bulky like a real lobster and 1 thin, rounded and hairy.

I couldn't get a pic of this guy because he was hiding under the sponge filter in the tank. he was a DEEP DEEP blue color... I almost bought him he was so cool, but i think my 3 crays wouldn't have played nice.

I don't see anything online about this guy, anyone know anything about it?

Thats it!

whoa, thank god i didn't buy that... according to the guy there, he thought the little guy wouldn't get any bigger. That picture looks huge.

well, if anyone wants one, it was at Fred's Pets in Nanuet, NY.

Sounds like a M. Hancocki. If it was that it wouldn't get too big compared to other FW prawn... Maybe 4" body at tops. Definitely has a chance to be aggressive towards other species in a tank. Beautiful coloring to them though.
