Can someone help tell me which type of dovii is this. Costa R or the other kind. What are the differences anyway if any?

I am not a dovii expert, but I remember reading that nics are the more elongated ones, while Costa Rican are stockier, which I guess would make yours a nic.

My understanding is that the Costa Ricans are usually more white to grey in the base color with way more blue in the fins, whereas the nics are more gold to yellow base color. I don't think the stocky body shape really becomes noticable until they get to a very large size. With these fish lighting can really affect the way they look in photos so it's hard to say, but I'd guess yours is probably a nicaraguan. Things could change as it grows or it may appear different if we had more photos/angles.

Here’s a problem, it could be a cross between Costa Rican and Nicarguan because the breeder didn’t know better. Unless the breeder bought directly wild caught dovii or from a breeder who knew the catch location of the dovii then there’s a high chance it’s a cross between the two catch locations.
