On the news tonight, there was a suprisingly interesting article about a chain superstore called 'Costco'. They explained how you need to be a member costing $100 a year just to shop there, yet the savings add up to thousands per year. Also, many of the shoppers only shop there once a month because most things are bought in bulk.

They explained how a Costco was to be opened June 2008, yet no identification on the exact location. Probably in a Major city.

Now America, what do YOU think of Costco?

Now Australia, what do YOU think Costco will bring us?

I just saw that too, It was exagerated by the program, They make it sound like it's the WORST.

Fishtanks, It will bring us fishtanks.

I doubt it has anything to do with pets apart from bird, reptile, dog, cat food, and maybe some cheap goldfish flakes with 58% ash.

Fishtanks, maybe not fish

Yes Costco is a membership only Warehouse really designed for business people who have shops but there are plenty to buy for the normal person. They allow "Profesional" people like police, fire brigade, prison officers etc... to become members too. I have a costco membership, we dont use it for much but the wife buys her washing powder and conditioner there, swears she saves enough money on that to justify the cost of the membrship alone LoL. Oh and the pizza they sell is just divine

We have Costco here :) It is actually 45-50.00.. If it is 100.00 over there they are raping you :0 Has nothing to do with Tanks :) Though if you buy a computer there it is garaunteed!!
They are a grocer :) And more ...

the prices aren;t as lovely as you woulld think.. On somethings they are. but it really is a Bulk buy store.

Costco doesn't sell aquariums or fish food..

their memberships here in the USA are $45 and $100 depending on the level of services you want to pay for.

I shop there twice a month and spend between $200-400 each time i walk in. The stores here have good deals on good produce in large quanties, and they have bulk meats but the prices on the meats has gone up a lot in recent years, we don't buy much meat from them anymore.

They also have good deals on clothing, i buy most of my work clothes there. And all kinds of stuff for my grandsons. And since it's just before christmas now they are stocking up on the toys and gift baskets and booze.. and they are all good deals.

Costco is pretty sweet. It's where I get all my frozen shrimp. $11 for a big ol' bag.
Oh, and $20 for a case of Monster is reason for going there alone!

I heard this man brought a Jim beam/Johnny Walker, one of them, for about 15 bucks! Like 600mL. If it was to be brought to Australia, Major shopping outlts such as Woolworth, Coles, Bunnings warehouse (Hardware) and the like would loose a lot of business. But loyal customers always return...
