So a few months ago my silver arowana jumped out of the tank and a week or two after I put him back in the tank he started growing some white cottony looking stuff. I don't have any pictures of it but thats what it looks like. He passed away a while ago.. But now I have datnoids and one of them has an open wound with this same stuff growing on him. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?! please help.

Its a fungal infection. Raise the temp in the tank to about 84 degrees and add 2 Tablespoons of aquarium salt per gallon...dose with maracyn-oxy for a few days with full filtration and extra air. I had the same problem with a AT. The infection was especially bad because it covered an entire eye to the mouth. It cleared in 4 days with this treatment and the fish has no scars and perfect eyes a month later.

I am assuming your water parameters are good. If you already have salt in your water reduce the amount I mentioned by as much.

I suspect something is wrong with the parameters and the fungus attacks are an indication of a problem with the water.

Alright so I added about 90 teaspoons of salt in the tank. Water parameters are in check. I'm going to raise the temperature soon so I hope all clears up and does not spread to the others. Thanks.
