Hi guys, i recently purchased a driftwood, cleaned it out good and put it into my freshwater tank. Its been 2 weeks now, and i noticed theres some kind of white cottonly stuff growing on my driftwood. Does anyone know why this happen or what is it?

Ive had that too on some driftwood I think its a fungus but it will go away eventually so noting to worry about. You can pull it out and brush/rinse it off in a bucket of dechlorinated water and put it back in the tank.
it is a fungus and is harmless. it will go away in a few weeks by itself or you can scrape it off with the hose during a water change. i have found that boiling doesnt work and it will just come back but anything is worth a try if your that bothered.
