I was watching TV and had fish on my mind like usual, when I saw my mum removing her nail varnish with these cotton pads. I thought that these would be a very good water polisher, as they are the same kind of texture as the fluval water polishers. These are 100% cotton, so they are safe too. Im going to layer these in a fluval 205 which I have on a 90 litre tank to see how they do.

I'm planning on making a layer of about two or three pads thick in two of the media baskets.

I'll post later to tell you how they're getting on :D

Here is a link on ebay, where there is litterally enough to roll around in, for only £5!

:nilly:

What do you think about this?

i buy quilt batting from walmart and use it to polish with.its cheap and does a good job but got to be careful it can clog up and block water flow.

oh right, i see. I saw a big bag of cotton, but it probably wouldnt last long, in my lfs and it was very expensive. It seems anything which is dedicated is over proced for what it is. Thats why I thought of this.

waltmart bag of quilt batting cost me $8 1 1/2 years ago and i have only used around 40% of it on 5 tanks.

AMERICA AMERICA AMERICA! you have EVERYTHING! your stuff is so cheap! and you have so many huge stores! i envy americans! haha I cant think of a shop that will sell that kind of stuff. thats why i thought of this:P
