I have a 5inch flowerhorn for about 6 months doin fine. He spawned with my blackbelt and the next day I notice cottony spots on his head and some on the side of his body. The next day it got worse so I take him out treat him with coppersafe and some fungus treatment. 2 weeks later he's fine so I put him back in the tank and couple weeks later spawn again and the same thing happens! What the heck. Never heard or seen this before can anyone help me out here with whats going on? None of the other fish get have this. Anyone?

does it look like grains of salt or powdered sugar allmost? If so it's ich. Try turning the heat up on your tank into the low 80's and add 1 TBLS salt per 5 gallons. That should help. If its more fuzzy it's more than likely a fungas and you would want to add the salt plus something like pimafix.

This happened to my male Green Terror while spawning, the cause is from the pre-spawning agression the fish substained wounds and the wounds then grew fungus, treat with Methelene blue, this will also keep the fungus from spreading to the eggs.
