Coughing

What does it mean when a cichla looks like its coughing??? And twards the end of the coughing he does a yawn. I've been seeing him do this lately

Please don't ask me if I use water conditioners, if I do normal water changes, or if I have tested the water parameters. That would be insulting lol

I'm not really sure, my bass do the same thing, what do u dews it I might be stuck in its throat??

something stuck in his throat, he's trying to dislodge it. my baby O had this happen and he darn near starved before it resolved itself.
 
no, probably more like a piece of gravel.
