i saw a creamsicle red devil at my lfs, and i really liked him what i was wondering is, could a red devil live in a 55g for life?

I have a 75g, that i was going to use for a small community for a green terror in the future, but if that would be nessesary for the red devil, i will save it for him, cause i really liked him.

And also what is you people out there diet for your rds?

I would really like on of these, and i dont see these everyday like you guys, so im thinking about getting him.

Its between him, and maybe an oscar, which i would prolly put in the 75g, because i no how big they can get, but im not sure on the red devil.

So any help would be much appreciated!!!

I don't think a 55 is large enough.

Feeding is nothing unusual; hikari and omega one pellets are good, and frozen krill etc.

from what ive seen most adult females are around 8-10 inches. 55 is 12 inches wide. thats why i say yes you could do it. it would be bare minimum but i would recomend a 75 gallon.

I think the 75 would be a good choice for him. A 55 would definitely be too small for a male in the long run.

If you get him, post pics! I love creamsicles!

alright well if thats what you guys say, i dont want to get a fish, that will outgrow the tank i have, you no

They would be better off with the GT in the 55g and the Red Devil in the 75g. That would be the minimum recommended tanks imo. I kept a GT in a 55g for almost eight years and he maxed out about 10". The small tank made him into an insane glass-banging monster. He was quite a showfish though.

o ya i think im going to just use it for a small community, with the green terror as my centerpiece and then find some other use for the 55g. in the future any cool fish that stays kind of small for a 55g. like some sevs with some like rams or something
