i want to upgrade from a 4x2x2 to a 6x2x2 and i could actually do with some advice, being 15, on how much a tank alone would cost. im guessing around £60 for the bare tank? and also if/when i get one will an arowana be able to live in it permanently?

you are talking a fare chunk of change. A 120 gallon here is about $400. And no an arowana will out grow that tank pretty quickly

whether its 4x2x2, 6x2x2, 10x2x2 or even 10000x2x2

2ft width just doesnt cut it for an aro.

ill get shunned for saying this but you could do it-the aro will be fine for a while but then when he hits 20" it will struggle.

PS my 6x2x2(180) cost 750 brand new with an all glass top

As far as price. I got my 220 (6x2x2.5) complete setup off craigslist for $250.

and I asked this same question once, everyone said no, so I never got an aro. Plenty of other awesome fish to keep in a 6x2 tank though!

if you want a arowana and is in the search for a larg tank i'd save the money and get
something withing the ranges of 7x3x2 or bigger then you can house a single arowana
of your choosing that is legal to keep in a private aquarium in your location... read the
arowana section and read up on the species of fish before purchasing please...

bigger expenses +1

the amount of money i spend just on food for my fishes & turtles is ridiculous!.......
all my family and friends tell me my dogs, fishes & turtles eat better then me countless
times... my dog eats raw meet everyday & my water buddies have a all day every day
sea food buffet going on while i eat burgers off the dolla menu.... lol ohh sad me... loll
