Came home to a big pile of eggs from my red texas and Carpintis male. The female red texas doesn't have a lot of pearls so I'm not sure if they will look worth a darn or not. If they hatch I'll grow out a few and see if they peel and how they look.

INteresting ! I hope you'll keep us updated !

Will do. Looks like almost all of them are fertile. The parents are taking good care of them. Hopefully they will hatch.

Almost all of the eggs hatched today. I have a pile of at least 1000 wigglers. I'm going to give then 2 days to mature a little then vacuum them out. I'm either going to have a lot of nice fry or a lot of pbass food:).

Your female looks like a fader rather than a Red Texas to me but anyway, Got any pics to post?:D

She was a cross of a midas and carpintis. I'm not familier enough with flowerhorn names to know what it should be called. I just called it a red texas as that is what I assume they were trying to make with the cross.
