This morning at about 2am one of my inkbird temp controller alarm went off went down to investigate the inkbird was showing a temp of 32.c but the heater was off got my thermometer it showed the tank water as being 23.8c did a quck swap round of the probes showed the same temp as thermometer so the probe has failed after 4 months this the stainless steel probe . I have decided to get the 306t which is the aquarium version my 2 other inkbird's have the metal probes as well the only thin the 306t dose not have the alarm

I use the 306t and hasn't been an issue yet.. but I also have another dig thermometer on the tank aswell for insurance... I check the temp twice a day... habit I guess

i have a 306t on a tank and its been ok the 306t states in the listing that it the one for aquariums and has a water proof plastic temp probe so I have ordered 2 more a will use one and keep the other as backup in case one my 308 probe fails i have heard about the metal probes letting water and failing

seen them on amazon and ebay id you have the 308s that probe just plugs in 3-08t would be opening up the unit to replace it
