I've been thinking, I have never had a catfish before. I've kept plecos and loaches but never a catfish so I'm thinking maybe I'll have room in my community tank I'm doing up.

The tank in question is the one in my signature. In addition to what I already have I'll be adding more lemon tetras, a black ghost knife and probably 3-5 Angelfish. I was looking at the jaguar catfish and then saw a post here about it eating bichirs and thought for sure my lemon tetras would be toast.

So could I squeeze a cat in with my stocklist? If so any suggestions - it just has to be of South American origin.

A nice group of Pimelodus pictus, at least 10, would be an awesome sight in it. Jaguar wood cat could work too but that's indeed a bit of a gamble. Lots of other smaller woodcats, like zamora, would work too.

Dunno about a group of 10 might be a little much maybe 5 or 6 would be better IMO
