Ive never had one before but im thinking it would be a fish i could use. I'm tired of always scraping the algae off the sides so i was wondering if a pleco would do that for me? My stock is 2 sens, 1 del, 1 bowfin, and 2 angels in my 75. I keep up on water changes but i just want to know if ill be over stocked if i added one or if it would bother any of my other fish. Most likely it would just be a common pleco or something easy to find at a chain store. Just wanna know if its a good or bad idea. Also everything in my 75 is under 7'' in case that helps.

I'd go with a bristlenose, won't outgrow the 75, good with algae, easy to find, and cheap.

Bristlenose would be te easy choice but there arw many you could add. Tbh, hypostomus punctatus could possibly work in your setup... Either that or just a bristlenose.

Also keep in mind that plecs seem to like the taste of bichir slime and have been caught sucking on them.

Yes go with 1 or 2 bn. I like the albino form myself. I'am surprized your bowfin does not mess with your angelfish.

The pleco will help with your algae removal but will not completely get rid of it. You can also help with frequent large water changes. Pleco's do help out though and you'll see a big difference :) I love plecos.

Thanks for the advice. Ill have to see what the lfs has. I guess the del would be my only worry cause the 2 sens are pretty active so idk if a plec could hold on very long. The bowfin isn't agressive at all and doesn't mess with the angels so I'm sure the plec would be okay.

mag float
i was tired of scraping algae and this thing works so good and is pretty easy

A pleco would create a serious risk to your polys, one that I dont think would be outweighed by his algae consumption.
