ok i think i can but need reasurance...anyway, i want to get rid of my convict pair and get 1 red jewel(hemichromis bimaculatus) and put it in my 30 with my meeki and rainbow shark so it is a little less crowded...i just want to know your opinions on red jewels and their behavior to other fish in the same tank

Red Jewels are Africans....I have seen them with SA/CA a million times. Some say it is tacky. I am not one of those people....

they should be okay. i kept my jewels with plenty of things, but eventually, they beat down a spawning pair of blood parrots, a red tail shark, and ate a lot of tetras

if there is a problem, just remove one of the fish.

ok i think i am going to my lfs this weekend and selling my convict pair and buying a red jewel. i know a few other people who think it is wrong to keep them with CA cichlids but if they need the same parameters and have the same temperment i say why not? thanks for your help guys
