I've been seeing these buggers for the last year or two, and can't find ANY websites that know what they are.

This particular fish, and the 4-5 more like him, was caught in a seine, in about knee-deep water (about 2 ft) and they're about 4-6 inches I've never seen them bigger. It's a clearwater lake in s/e michigan. They have light colored pectoral fins, that have a dark spot at the tip, and their dorsal fin looks like that too.

These guys were released after the photos. Right back into the lake from my bucket. On the opposite side of the dock where they were collected. (Meaning, the dock was to the left of me, we collected, climbed OVER the dock into the pontoon, sorted out the bigger fish, and let them go)

The only reason I'm asking for an ID here, is because I've been seeing them for a long time, and they nibble on my legs until I feed them the invasive zebra mussels in that lake (invasive species) And...I'm curious! lol

I've seen another fish that looks almost EXACTLY like that one, but the nose is darker, and it has these pimple-like things on it's nose. And I'm wondering what that one is as well.

Sorry for the blurs my camera isn't that good at closeups!!

Try and set your camera to "macro" and take more photos. The macro mode is usually represented by a tulip or flower symbol.

Can't ID with those pics.

There is no way to ID that from your pics. Poly probably knows what species are in that area but I don't know if he'll be able to narrow it down.

The pics really are way to bad to be useful, but given what I know of Clearwater lake (if it is the same one??), I would very highly suspect this is a bluntnose minnow.

This is Washington Lake, but we're close to Clearwater.

My camera has no macro setting, otherwise I would've used it!! :(

Thanks for your help anyways, guys, this at least gives me a name to look at that I wasn't aware of previously. Now I can look it up, and let you know if that's exactly what it is!! :D
