I have considered a BGK for a while but have always had concern with compatability. My tank is a 125g (72x22x18) It has 2 aqueon 75/55 filters on it (will be adding a sponge filter soon also). Live plants jungle val/ java fern/ anubias. The decor is drift wood and lava rock (several pvc tubes under lava rock for securitys sake), and a few bricks in different places with a sand substrate.
stock is.

10" Male jack dempsey( pretty timid for a dempsey he lets new additions know its his tank but for the most part ignores other fish, he will protect the albino senegal though have watched him do so many times)
8" Sengal (will be another soon he is around 5" now)
7" albino senegal
7" female BN pleco
5" albino male BN pleco (countless baby plecs running about)
I am also growing out 12 or so mollies and swords I will add to the tank when above 3" I keep my preds well fed and am hoping they can cohabitate the tank.

Could I get away with a BGK and if so what size should I add it to this tank? can grow out with my angel fish in my 55 gallon till big enough.

hmm the stickied write up said 75g so I figured I was all right size wise. Was concerned with bichir compatability as the BGK would be bigger.

Yeah if I get a BGK the mollies and swords will likely join my angels or I will set my 29 gallon back up as a community tank for them. Was only going to add them to the 125 to liven the tank up a bit. My dempsey is so shy he is only out if he doesnt know your in the room. I also make sure my bichirs have lots of hide outs so I see them make runs for air and come out to get food then they hide too.

If it is going to be cramped for a BGK I wont get one I like my fish to feel happy and healthy even more than I like to see them is why I have stayed with senegal bichirs ( may get a palmas or armored bichir eventually but will stick to smaller breeds).
