2 festivums, 5 jurupari, 2 severums, chocolate cichlid, pinktail chalceus. I've had a change of plans and need to move out my arowana, and I'm thinking of going with a peaceful SA setup with the above. I'd like to add some smaller fish...cories, maybe ottos, and a big shoal of medium tet like serpaes or some such. Any of these likely to eat the little fish? I'm most worried about the chocolate cichlid, he's a bit of a glutton (typical chocolate).

I think your chocolate would be too slow to even mess with the tetras, let alone him even being interested in them..

Should be fine, though I'd start with a larger bodied Tetra like Bleeding Hearts or something along those lines.

i've found that larger fish usually pick off the smaller guys at night while their sleeping. i've been surprised by some of the mistakes i've made doing this. you can always give it a shot and see how it goes though.

In a word , no. At some point you'll wake up and find a very plump Chocolate, and a bunch of missing tetras. That's if the Chalceus doesn't beat him to it. Night time is a bad time for small fish in a tank of big mouths. My Sevs will decimate a school of tall bodied tetras in a couple of days , and they have much smaller mouths that a Chocolate. During the day they pay them no mind , then once the lights go out it's game time.

The Geos on the other hand would be fine with them.
