has anyone done this? i'm moving to nc where the avg winter is 41 degrees. finished garage, 180 tank. maybe i could get 2 heaters or something, wanting to keep freshwater rays again.

Maybe you could put some kind of insulation or put additional insulation when its cold...my friend who has a large collection of tanks on his garage use a centralized heating system for it.

where are you moving to? i know a couple people with garage tanks they put them on a wall that touches the house and run a space heater on colder nights with little trouble.

Where in NC are you moving? That may make all the difference in the world. In Charlotte, NC, the average winter temperature may be 41. But, then again, there may be a week where it won't break 30 and days in the teens. At the coast, the winters are much more mild.

will 180 be enough for rays?

If the temp is differnt by much the glass will fog

inside or out?

Seriously, It's easier to keep the room warmer and then the tank.
