Could I reuse filter media from a freshwater setup for a new marine setup?

Of course it can be used. However, it needs to be considered as it it was new media introduced into the marine setup. That is, any biological colony in the filter (from fw setup) will die once into the marine, and a new colony of different bacteria will eventually develop. Thus, it cannot be expected that it will continue serving as biological filter from day one in the marine setup.
