i have no idea how to make overflows and what ever so i came up with this idea lastnight. would it work if i had 2 power heads the same size : 1 pumping water out of the tank to a DIY canister filter by a tube conected to it and the second one put at the bottom of the canistor filter with the filter taken off of it acting like a pump back into the tank? the only thing im wondering about would the pump in the canister be able to pump the water at the same rate as the one in the tank???
Go ahead, do it.
See what happens.
After your done, put away the mop/bucket and share your tale of woe.
Or..
Look through the bunch of posts that asked the same questions and save yourself some grief.
What I`m saying is, it`s not a good idea.
What if 1 powerhead fails? I suggest you use the powerhead for the filter's inlet or outlet. Let gravity/siphon handle the other one. If you are not good with drilling, make an Overhead filter, its really simple to make.
im am so confused i know how the siphan works but i dont know how to work out how you make the water leave and enter at the same rate ive tryed reading all the charts and i cant make sense of it plz help?
Read some of the other threads on here, I'm sure you can find one that answers your question. Or you can find a project that you can take ideas from. Good luck.
