Could I......

Turn my hob filter into a chaeto chamber? It's a Aqueon 50 or 55 hob, would that be too strong of a current? Also what light should I use?

I'd think it would be too much flow for the cheato to be effective but I don't really know - fluorescents are fine

I'll agree with it being too much flow. You could maybe change the size of the impeller to get less flow. That's what some people do with aquaclear filters. I did that to mine on my nano reef too

Maybe I will just let the ball sit in the tank, my tux urchin really seems to like it as a hat lol. It is pretty funny seeing a big green ball ontop of this little urchin.
