i think that Potamotrygon schuhmacheri could be the xingu... look Potamotrygon schuhmacheri up on google and see for your self... it might be?

No man! Xingu ray is a sp from brazil.xingu river to be precise

The ray you mention schumachi ? Is from a different part of south America Argentina very far away.

Xingu is not a species ! It's the name of a river .leos are from the xingu river so they are a xingu ray!
Xingu sp. is what the name is ,possibly a natural hybrid because not all turn white. Infact only 3 turned white.tgey are illegal to export from brazil and have been for a while. Nobody gets these rays out unless the poach them . I keep seeing all these retarded posts about possibly a acquiring a xingu sp but their ugly brown ray they got from Columbia is not for sure. Theirs many Columbia sp rays as us their every country. Ppl are going to try I guess ,just like a certian well known con artist on aquabid lol. Your ugly brown rays are not from brazil and if they were they are not from the xingu river. Ppl just think its a small river and a guy can take a boat ride in a day and catch any species he wants. Take the 2,3,4 and 5th biggest rivers on earth add them up and it's still smaller than amazon.

Their was a small group of these rays exported by Germans years ago not many are left and I've only heard of 4 being alive still.2 of them turned white so far.and of course their still maybe a couple floating under the radar in Europe but only one out their known has turned stunning.

The pattern and many other things are very different to what I keep seeing you guys compare them too. Rows of spines is a pretty easy way of telling along with eyes disc shape and max size ect.

Nobody is going to get a xingu sp by accident because any ray that looks like it in brazil us also illegal to take. If you didn't pay a guy to poach you some xingu sp rays than you don't have them end of story

what if its a abnormality in the pups like a leucistic or platinum or albino... it might be but who knows, nobody's bred purebred xingu's before.

No ... I've seen snow leopard pups before .they are not leusistic albino or anything more than some sort of variation of a natural hybrid species that only 3 out of many turned white.lots died so who knows but I do know that 3 of them progressively turned white from starting off grey ,light grey, brown and black.

My point is that every brown ray on this forum is going to be a snow leopard now just like every body's Leo's are now bd something.

It could be polymorphism or a natural sp ray. Nobody knows cause they are not worth taking
