Could someone please translate or point me to a URL?

Hi,

I just joined MFK this week. I noticed that there are many posts here that refer to plecos by an L# and no name. I have no idea what they are talking about when they refer to a xxxx Pleco just by that. Is there some kind of list out there which mentions each of the Plecos and the L#s associated with them?

Also, I noticed several people use the term LFS. Can you please tell me what that means?

One more question.... Some people have mentioned they got their Plecos wild and some home bred. Is there a significant difference?

If wanting to learn the pleco from an L number I just use planet catfish.

Lfs is local fish store. Captive bred vs wild caught well wild caught tend to be more expensive, rarer, and more sought after as they shoildnt have stuff like color morph genes as them, and behave more like they would in nature
