Could this be used as a return pump?

This might be a silly question, but I was wondering if something like this can be used as a return pump for a 150 gallon aquarium? I have a 40 gallon sump.

No, Those pumps are not built to run 24/7. There built to be used in short bursts just to get the job done.

It could be uses but these pumps are not really made to run constantly that's why they have a float switch. I would look for something different but that's me. If you want run it and see how long it lasts

yes you can if you dont mind the motor running every couple second very loudly and violently in that sump tank.
